Andrew Ong to Lead Global Person-to-Person (P2P) Payments at MasterCard Worldwide



New Role Demonstrates Company’s Commitment to Building Leadership Position in Priority Business Segment
PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MasterCard Worldwide today announced that Andrew Ong has been appointed Group Head, Global Person-to-Person (P2P) Payments , a role that will bolster MasterCard’s mission to advance global commerce in a way that makes life easier for consumers.

Based in Singapore, Andrew brings a depth of experience in the P2P space and will be a key driver in advancing MasterCard’s leadership in payment services through the company’s MoneySend™ platform. He will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new P2P payment solutions that will continue to displace cash and check payments and will help in growing MasterCard’s overall transaction processing and gross dollar volume.



Andrew Ong to Head MasterCard P2P
Prior to joining MasterCard, Andrew held several key positions at Western Union, General Electric, IBM and Hewlett Packard. In his most recent position at Western Union, Andrew served as Regional Vice President and Managing Director in their North Asia region and board member of the Western Union Foundation. Andrew was also a key member of the Executive Committee for Western Union's APAC region. He provided strategic direction for a team of 38 professionals across the region to acquire, grow and retain business in China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Taipan, Hong Kong and Macau.
