Consumer Settlement Proposed for Heartland Breach

Linda McGlasson, the Managing Editor for Bank Info Security writes about the recent April 27th consumer class action hearing.  If this settlement proposal is indeed approved it leaves two more cases against Heartland.



The remaining class action lawsuit includes one filed by the financial institutions and the other settlement agreement yet to be reached is one with MasterCard.  (Visa made Heartland pay $60 million.)  For more info, enter "Heartland Breach" into the search box on the right.

A proposed settlement of the consumer class action suit brought against payments processor Heartland Payments System got preliminary approval from a U.S. District Court judge in late April.
