CTO Kevin Kern Promoted to EVP, Global Operations & Technology

Controller Ray Winborne Promoted to EVP, Acting Chief Financial Officer
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today announced changes to the company’s senior leadership team. Chief Technology Officer Kevin Kern has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Global Operations & Technology and Controller Ray Winborne has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Acting Chief Financial Officer.

The senior leadership team, also known as the executive committee, is now comprised of the following individuals who report directly to the CEO:
  • Ed Labry, EVP and President of Retail and Alliance Services

  • Kevin Schultz, EVP and President of Financial Services

  • Peter Boucher, EVP, Human Resources

  • David Money, EVP and General Counsel

  • John Elkins, EVP, Chief Marketing Officer

  • Kevin Kern, EVP of Global Operations and Technology

  • Ray Winborne, EVP and Acting Chief Financial Officer

The company also announced that Bob DeRodes, Pat Shannon and Grace Chen Trent will be leaving the company subject to a transition period.

Kevin Kern joined First Data in 2009 as senior vice president and chief technology officer and earlier this year assumed responsibility for international operations and technology, and global technology solutions. His focus will continue to be on improving First Data’s global service quality and optimizing resources. He has more than 33 years of industry leadership and experience with global transformations as demonstrated while he served as chief information officer for CA Technologies and Unisys.
Ray Winborne joined First Data in 2009 and currently serves as senior vice president, finance and controller. In this role, he is responsible for all corporate accounting activities including SEC and regulatory financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley financial compliance, benefits and revenue accounting, procurement and receivable services. Winborne began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and was later named corporate controller and chief accounting officer at two Fortune 200 companies – BellSouth Corporation and Delta Air Lines.
