Two New Fujitsu NFC-enabled Mobile Phones from NTT DOCOMO Leverage Touch-powered Features from AuthenTec

MELBOURNE, Fla.--()--AuthenTec (NASDAQ: AUTH), a leading provider of mobile and network security, announced that two new waterproof phones now available from NTT DOCOMO, INC leverage multiple touch-powered features of AuthenTec’s AES1750 smart fingerprint sensor. The two new Fujitsu phones -- the docomo STYLE series F-02D and F-04D -- integrate a waterproof AES1750 smart sensor that utilizes AuthenTec’s durable TouchStone™ packaging for touch-powered features including convenient fingerprint security, user personalization and faster, more secure NFC-based mobile wallet payments.

The AES1750 smart sensor enhances touch-powered features of these mobile phones by giving users the ability to quickly and securely lock and unlock the phone with the simple swipe of a finger and personalize certain functions of these waterproof mobile phones. Mobile wallet purchases can also be authenticated by using the AES1750, enhancing the security of mobile commerce (m-commerce) transactions made via the phones. NTT DOCOMO has more than 500,000 Osaifu-Keitai™ payment terminals in Japan which now accept payment via NFC-enabled mobile phones, with terminal locations at many retail chains, convenience stores, restaurants, subway terminals and vending machines. AuthenTec’s AES1750 sensor combines multiple touch-powered functions in an elegant, one-half millimeter thickness, yet highly durable package that is easy to integrate in mobile phones, tablets, remote controls, GPS navigation devices and other electronic products.

The docomo STYLE series F-02D is an all-in-one high-spec waterproof feature phone incorporates a 16.3-megapixel camera featuring Art Movie mode and is based on a smart design that facilitates quick, smooth operation. The docomo STYLE series F-04D is a durable but slim (10.9mm) feature phone with powerful CPU, a super-tough body with a carbon fiber/titanium front and scratch-resistant coating in back. AuthenTec’s AES1750 is incorporated on the back of the phone for quick fingerprint authentication by the phones’ users. 30 Fujitsu phone models have incorporated AuthenTec fingerprint sensors, encompassing many millions of mobile phones beginning with the first model, the mova F505i, which began shipping in 2003.
