First Data Chooses Acculynk’s PaySecure for Internet PIN Debit

First Data to offer Internet PIN debit via Acculynk’s PaySecure

Atlanta, Feb. 14, 2011 -- Acculynk, provider of PaySecure®, the only software service in the U.S. that enables PIN debit payments on the Internet, today announced that First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, will offer its online merchants PaySecure through First Data’s eCommerce payment processing platforms.

With online fraud on the rise, this solution adds a security measure that merchants can offer their customers during the checkout process. In fact, according to Javelin Strategy and Research’s 2010 Identity Fraud Survey Report, card‐not-present fraud through online purchases rose for the third year in a row to 42 percent in 2009, from 37 percent in 2008 and 28 percent in 2007.

“With PaySecure, we will be able to provide our online merchants another security tool that will reduce fraud, increase savings and provide consumers with another choice that’s already a familiar payment method,” said Souheil Badran, First Data senior vice president and division manager, eCommerce Solutions. “By augmenting PaySecure into our current fraud and security offerings, First Data offers one of the most robust and secure eCommerce platforms in the market. Plus, it is simple for our merchants to implement and for their customers to use during the online checkout process.”

PaySecure brings the security and convenience of PIN debit to the Internet with a patented, graphical PIN-pad that appears over the merchant checkout for the option of PIN entry. Consumers can pay with participating debit cards and a PIN, just like they would use PIN debit at the retail point of sale, and there is no enrollment required or redirection from the merchant’s payment page.
“PaySecure, in use by major eCommerce merchants and airlines, allows a merchant to leverage their existing payment channels, and unlike many other payment methods, it brings immediate consumer adoption,” said Ashish Bahl, CEO of Acculynk. “First Data is integrating PaySecure into their environment to simplify the merchant adoption and rollout process.”

HomeATM-AnywhereCommerce and CardinalCommerce Partner to Bring Secure PIN Debit Processing to Internet and Mobile Commerce Merchants

MONTREAL and MENTOR, Ohio, Feb. 15, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Rover™ point of sale terminal, manufactured by HomeATM, is the first ever Internet PIN entry device (PED) to achieve PCI certification 2.1.

LogoHomeATM's PCI certified 2.1 PED device and patented solution is portable (measuring 3.5" x 1.5"), cost effective, and bank-grade secure. Rover™ is "friendly and easy" for a consumer to use when shopping online or on their mobile phone, with instantaneous implementation.

HomeATM's Rover will be delivered as part of CardinalCommerce's Universal PIN Debit Service™ (UPDS), which will be available to merchants that use the Cardinal Centinel® Universal Merchant Platform. Centinel is already used by thousands of Internet and mobile commerce merchants and is the industry standard supporting traditional 3D-Secure payment brands and Alternative Payment methods. UPDS will allow Centinel merchants an additional payment option, the ability to accept online PIN debit transactions, to offer their online and mobile shoppers.

As part of UPDS, the Rover will provide secure multi-factor authentication for eCommerce and mCommerce transactions including:
  • Device level 3DES encryption
  • 4-Factor authentication
  • Fraud reduction/elimination
Consumers that wish to shop online using their PIN debit card simply need to swipe their card into their personal Rover in exactly the same way they would swipe their card at the grocery store, gas pump, or bank, and enter their PIN to authenticate themselves. Centinel merchants can confidently process orders knowing that this method of authentication represents the lowest fraud risk of any transaction type. The cardholder and their card are "present" in all scenarios driving increased security, fraud reduction, and favorable interchange rates.

"Delivering secure PIN debit on the web is long overdue," said Mitchell Cobrin, President & CEO of HomeATM-AnywhereCommerce. "We commend Cardinal for accepting the lead role, managing the expectations of all stakeholders in eCommerce transactions, while creating this new eco system. Rover provides the point of sale PIN debit transaction for a consumer shopping in the virtual and mobile channels."

Cardinal's platform can accommodate virtually any authentication technology and can easily handle version changes, technology enhancements while adding flexible authentication parameters for added strength.  "Cardinal continues to achieve its strategy to enable authenticated transactions originating from any place, sending transactions to the right place, in the right way," said Mike Keresman, Chief Executive Officer of CardinalCommerce.   "We are pleased about adding Home ATM's authentication technology, Rover, to ensure that remote consumer channels are safe and secure."
